It’s a little cooler than the last couple of mornings as we wake up on this Tuesday, but don’t get too comfortable just yet.
Warm and humid conditions will continue across Newark and the North Jersey region today.
Good morning and Happy Tuesday, NJ! We’re glad you’re joining us this morning.
It is currently 75 degrees in downtown Newark as we start the day, with temperatures a little cooler in some of our surrounding communities.
We’re waking up to around 69 degrees in Wayne, 67 in Morristown, 67 in Somerville, 71 along the Jersey Shore in Belmar and 75 in Newark.
We’ll once again deal with warm and humid conditions throughout the day, although temperatures should stay just below the 90-degree mark in many locations.
The good news is that we’re expecting a break from this stretch of uncomfortable heat beginning Wednesday.
But first, we have to get through today.
There’s also a chance for afternoon showers and thunderstorms, similar to what we’ve seen over the last couple of days.
Keep the umbrella nearby just in case, especially if you’ll be out later this afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service, there is a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m.
Otherwise, skies will be mostly sunny with a high near 89 degrees. West winds will be around 5 to 8 mph.
Tonight, there remains a chance of showers and thunderstorms under mostly cloudy skies. Temperatures will fall to around 71 degrees, with a 30% chance of precipitation.
