We're warming up across Newark and the North Jersey region today, but if you're headed into New York City for the massive Knicks ticker-tape parade, you may want to bring a poncho just in case.

Good morning, New Jersey! It is currently 70 degrees in downtown Newark with breezy conditions across the area.
While periods of showers are expected throughout the day, it will not be a washout.
You'll still find opportunities to get outside and enjoy the warm weather, but keep an eye on the sky, especially during the afternoon hours.
According to the National Weather Service, showers are likely today, with thunderstorms also possible after 2 p.m.
Skies will be mostly cloudy early before gradually becoming sunnier, with temperatures climbing to near 90 degrees.
Southwest winds will range from 9 to 17 mph, with gusts reaching as high as 34 mph. The chance of precipitation is 60 percent.
Tonight, clouds will increase with an overnight low around 69 degrees.
West winds of 10 to 14 mph are expected, with gusts up to 31 mph.
