Walmart Children's Toy Recalled for Possible Choking Hazard

By: Jada K. Davis

On April 14th, Walmart’s childrens’ brand, Playgro, recalled a popular infant rattle due to choking hazards.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), around 18,000 have been sold in Walmart and online from November 2020 to January 2021.

The recalled item, “Clip Clop Infant Activity Rattles”, is a horse-shaped, plush, stuffed rattle that is blue and has four legs, two of which are rattles, and one has a mirror. Attached to its back, is an abacus bar that has three beads.

This product is being recalled due to the possibility that “the abacus ring on the back can dislodge and release the small beads, posing a choking hazard.” (CPSC)

No incidents have been reported.
