Walgreens Pharmacy Burglarized in Newark

Newark

Newark Police Officials are on the search for suspects wanted for a commercial burglary of a store in Newark on Sunday morning.

According to preliminary reports, police were called to the Walgreens Pharmacy located at the intersection of Broad and South streets before 6:30 a.m.

When units arrived at the scene, they found that several windows in the South Street side of the establishment were purposely smashed in.

Detectives were observed collecting evidence and fingerprints inside the store while store officials boarded up the windows.

It is not clear what -if anything- the suspects took from the store before running from the scene.

Company officials reached by phone would only say that the store was closed during the incident and there was no evidence that the suspects took any medication during the incident.

Officials referred all other questions to The Newark Police Department.

Police have not commented on the matter.
