Woodbridge Township Colonia

Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Robert Hubner, director of the Woodbridge Police Department, announced that a township man was charged today with the murder of a 32-year-old woman who was found dead in their home.

Police were dispatched to the couple's Devon Road home in Colonia at approximately 9:28 a.m. Wednesday. Upon arrival, police found Giorgina Nigro unresponsive. Officials pronounced her dead at the scene at approximately 10:01 a.m.

An autopsy performed by the Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that Ms. Nigro died from blunt force and sharp force trauma. At that time, it was determined that she was the victim of a homicide.

Although no details were provided as to what led police to 42-year-old Vito Nigro, prosecutor announced this afternoon that Nitro had been charged with murder and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose in the death of Giorgina Nigro.

His bail was set at $750,000 for the defendant.

Despite, official confirmation from authorities, sources confirmed that Vito Nigro - owner of European Hair Designs - was the man who jumped off an overpass on to the Garden State Parkway yesterday.

Authorities could only say that Nigro is currently held at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick where he is listed in stable condition.
