Middlesex County authorities are investigating a stabbing incident that left a person suffering critical injuries on Monday evening in North Brunswick.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the vicinity of Oak Road and Holly Lane after receiving reports of an injured person at that location.
Upon their arrival, officer requested EMS on the rush after locating a victim suffering multiple stab wounds.
EMStransported the victim to an area hospital in critical condition while police searched the area for a black male suspect who possibly fled the scene in a taxi before officers made it to the scene.
Police were able to detain one person who fit the description of the suspect, but authorities are continuing the active and ongoing investigation.
