Hudson County authorities are investigating a crash that killed one person and sent several to the hospital overnight in Jersey City.
The violent head-on crash happened in the vicinity of Paterson Plank Road and Congress Street at around 2:05 a.m. sending emergency responders to the scene where crews arrived and observed two severely damaged vehicle with injured occupants inside the cars at that location.
According to preliminary reports, at least four victims were rushed to Jersey City Medical Center suffering various serious injuries. One of the victims was pronounced dead a short time later.
The identity of the victim has not been released at this time.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
