Vineland Man Found Dead Inside His Home

Authorities are investigating a shooting that left a 32-year-old Vineland man dead inside his home.

According to authorities, police on Jan. 29th, at approximately 9 p.m. responded to the 700 block of E. Oxford Street for a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers found Walter L. Brown, III, 32, shot in his Vineland home. Brown was transported to the Inspira Medical Center in Vineland where he was pronounced deceased as the result of injuries sustained from gunshot(s).

A preliminary investigation revealed that unknown subjects reportedly entered Brown’s home. Following a confrontation, Brown was shot before the suspects fled the area.

This investigation is ongoing with the Vineland Police Department Detective Bureau and the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office’s Major Crimes Unit investigating.
