Vineland Man Charged With Atlantic City Fatal Crash

On Monday, June 5, Joseph J. Melini, 50, of Vineland, was charged with vehicular homicide based on his involvement in a motor vehicle crash in 2021.

According to officials, on October 30, 2021, at 8:10 P.M., Melini was involved in a motor vehicle crash in the 300 block of Delaware Avenue in Atlantic City while operating a 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Officials say Melini’s passenger, Naisha Peterson, 36, of Mays Landing, was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of the injuries she sustained.

Subsequent investigation revealed Melini was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the motor vehicle crash.

According to authorities, Melini is charged with second-degree Vehicular Homicide for causing the death of Peterson.

This fatal crash investigation was conducted by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office’s Crash Investigations Unit.
