There were no serious injuries reported in a Harrison police pursuit that ended in a collision with multiple vehicles struck in Newark's East Ward on Sunday morning.

According to preliminary reports, police began to follow a vehicle on Frank E. Rogers Boulevard occupied by a driver who ignored a traffic stop.

Police say the driver sped across the boulevard and made his way onto the Jackson Street Bridge just before 1:15 a.m.

The driver lost control and slammed into about seven parked cars near Vivo Lounge on Jackson Street in Newark's Ironbound section. The suspect bailed from the vehicle and it is not clear if police ever arrested the suspect.

The cause of the pursuit is under investigation. We will update this story as soon as official information comes in from the Harrison Police Department.
