Newark Police are on the search for a suspect wanted in connection with an aggravated assault that occurred on Monday, October 23rd.

Police said at approximately 6:20 p.m., officers responded to the area of Broadway and 3rd Avenue on a call of shots fired.
An off-duty police officer in the area heard the shots and observed a blue SUV driving erratically and fleeing south on Broadway according to police.
A male victim arrived at University Hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening gunshot wound then released by doctors.
Detectives developed sufficient evidence to identify the depicted individual as a suspect in this shooting.
While police are actively searching for this suspect, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing him from ciry streets.
This investigation is active and ongoing.
