Police officials in Newark are looking for several suspects who pistol-whipped then carjacked the owner of a vehicle in the city's North Ward on Sunday.
According to a preliminary investigation, the early morning incident happed at approximately 3:35 a.m. on Oraton Street.
Police say two black males approached the driver of a 2018 Honda Accord with NY license plates then announced the carjacking at gunpoint.
During the incident, police say the suspects began to violently beat the victim with the weapon before speeding off in the car.
Police said the victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and the suspects remain at-large.
