One person suffered fatal injuries in a late-night shooting in Paterson.
A preliminary investigation indicated that at approximately 8:10 p.m., a gunman fired multiple rounds in the direction of two victims near the intersection of Thomas and Main streets.
Upon officers' arrival, an unidentified person was found suffering a bullet wound in their chest at that location.
Medical personnel at St. Joseph's Hospital pronounced the victim dead a short time later.
Police say they found a second injured person in the area, but this victim survived.
Paterson officials said Sunday evening's double shooting is still under investigation and prosecutors did not release any details about a possible shooter.
