The Union County Prosecutor's Office has been notified of a Plainfield stabbing incident that left one person fighting for their life early Friday morning.
According to a preliminary investigation, police were called to the vicinity of 209 East Fron Street near Watchung Avenue to investigate reports of an injured person just before 1 a.m.
Upon arrival, police found an unidentified person suffering multiple stab wounds at that location.
On the scene reporters observed EMS administering CPR on the victim before transporting to Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center for additional treatment.
The victim's injuries were reported as life-threatening just before 1:30 a.m.
The motive for the attack is under investigation and no arrests have been officially reported.
