Ther is an active investigation underway into a stabbing that injured a person in Hawthorne on Wednesday evening.
Police say they were called to the 100 block of Goffle Road after they received reports of a person stabbed shortly before 8:50 p.m.
Upon arrival, they found the victim suffering a serious stab injury at that location.
EMS transported the injured to St. Joseph's Hospital for treatment while police searched for the suspect who fled the scene on foot towards Paterson.
The motive for the stabbing is under investigation and no arrests reported.
