Police in Newark are on the search for several suspects who robbed then attacked a person in the city's Ironbound section overnight.
The incident was reported after 2 a.m. in the area of Ferry and Main streets where police were called to the scene to investigate reports of a robbery.
The victim said that while in the area, as many as four black male suspects demanded personal possessions before they began to physically attack according to reports.
The men fled the scene in a light-colored four-door vehicle.
The victim's injuries were not reported as life threatening.
Newark Police are actively investigating.
