Good morning, New Jersey!

At 4:30 a.m. on this National Kindness Day, we’re waking up to some of the coldest air of the season, with Newark sitting at a brisk 38 degrees—just a couple of degrees above freezing.NinosNorth Jersey, including Sussex, Passaic, and Morris counties, is seeing even chillier conditions with temperatures at or below freezing.

If you’re heading out early for work, be sure to bundle up with a warm coat and maybe even a scarf. Despite sunny skies, we’ll struggle to get past the upper 40s today, so keeping those layers handy will be wise.

While winds are expected to calm, the fire risk remains high. Due to dry conditions, the State of New Jersey has issued a statewide burn ban effective as of Tuesday.

According to The National Weather Service, the day ahead will be:

  • Today: Sunny, with a high near 49°F. North wind around 8 to 10 mph.
  • Tonight: Mostly clear, with temperatures dropping to around 32°F.

Stay warm, NJ, and have a wonderful and kind day!
