Police in Newark setup a large crime scene near the South and Central wards border after violent gunfire erupted between suspects occupying two separate cars on Sunday night.
The incident happened in the vicinity of the old Johns Place Restaurant where two vehicles occupied by suspects began to fire multiple shots at each other while residents scrambled for cover.
The suspects sped away from the scene while they continued to fire shots driving on Clinton Avenue according to reports.
Police officers arrived at the scene found a parked vehicle with multiple bullets holes including several that penetrated the windshield just off the 200 block of Clinton Avenue.
Police say bullets struck at least one other vehicle during the violent exchange of shots by the unidentified suspects.

There were no severe injuries or arrests reported.
