Vehicle Vandals Continue to Strike Several Parts of Newark

Authorities are continuing to investigate and look for the person/s who are responsible for stealing the wheels off of several vehicle around the city.

The incidents usually occur during the overnight hours while residents are asleep according to authorities. Suspects swiftly remove the rims and tires from vehicles, leaving the vehicles supported by bricks or cinder blocks according to reports.

Early last week, suspect/s snatched the wheels off of two vehicles at a residential complex near Martin Luther King Boulevard in the city's Central Ward.

A vehicle that was recently purchased by a person on Chestnut Street in the city's East Ward Ward had it's wheels stolen over the weekend.

Police found a vehicle stripped of it's wheels in the parking lot of a local Rite Aid on South Street and Broad Street last week causing them to launch an investigation into the incident.

Residents reported seeing a red colored pickup truck driving slowly through neighborhoods during the late night hours with occupants inside acting suspicious.

There have been no arrests reported.
