Vehicle Submerged in Passaic River Confirmed as that of Missing Woman's

During a search for a woman reported missing, dive teams were called into the Passaic River in Wallington for a submerged car.

This evening, police have confirmed that the submerged vehicle found behind the Wozniak Funeral Home on Midland Avenue just before 4:30 p.m., is that of Devorah Stubin, 22, of Passaic.

The area has been declared a crime scene. The recovered body is pending formal positive identification by medical examiner's office. However, the Bergen County Sheriff Michael Saudino has confirmed that the recovered vehicle contained the body of Devorah Stubin.

Divers from Wallington, Lyndhurst, Garfield, Oradell and Mahwah were seen at the scene.

At least one firefighter has been treated for hypothermia.
