The Kearny Police Traffic Bureau is investigating a pedestrian strike that left a woman dead in the city last night.
According to a preliminary investigation, police responded to reports of an injured person in the 400 block of Passaic Avenue at approximately 6:30 p.m.
Kearny authoritities said emergency responders arrived at the scene where they found a senior woman laying on the ground suffering severe injuries after a Ford Pickup truck struck her at that location.
RMS rushed the 81-year-old unconscious and unresponsive Parsippany woman to Clara Maass Hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later.
The incident remains under investigation.
