A major food recall is underway after federal officials announced that thousands of frozen breakfast burritos and wraps may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

According to information sent by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), M.C.I. Foods Inc. of Santa Fe Springs, California, is recalling approximately 91,585 pounds of ready-to-eat products produced between September 17 and October 14, 2025.

The affected items include Los Cabos, El Más Fino, and Midamar brands, some of which were distributed through the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs.

The recalled products, which bear establishment number “EST. 1162A” or “P-5890A” inside the USDA inspection mark, were shipped nationwide to foodservice institutions.

A full list of product names and labels has been posted by USDA.

The problem surfaced when routine sampling of scrambled egg ingredients used in the burritos tested positive for Listeria. M.C.I. Foods immediately alerted the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), triggering the recall.

At this time, no illnesses have been reported, but USDA urges anyone concerned about possible exposure to contact their healthcare provider.

Consumers are advised to avoid serving or eating the recalled products and dispose of them properly.
