UPDATE: Woodbine Man Indicted for Atlantic City Murder

Authorities in Atlantic County announced that on Tuesday, February 27, Vincent Oglesby, 30, from Woodbine, was indicted by an Atlantic County Grand Jury for first-degree murder and associated weapons offenses in regard to the murder of Richard Vincent O’Brien, III, occurring on January 1, 2024, in Atlantic City.AdOfficials say the defendant remains lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending trial.

According to officials, on January 1, 2024, at approximately 6:15 a.m., Atlantic City Police responded to a 911 call regarding a male bleeding in the unit block of S. California Avenue.

The male, later identified as O’Brien, 50, was transported to the Atlantic City Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his wounds, officials stated.

Authorities say it is alleged that Oglesby stabbed the victim in the neck area, with the injury ultimately leading to his death.

This incident is being investigated by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office’s Major Crimes Unit and the Atlantic City Police Department, officials said.
