The Atlantic County Major Crimes Unit and the Atlantic City Police Department are investigating the fatal shooting of a female early Sunday morning.
Officials said that on Sunday, August 28, at approximately 1:09 a.m., The Atlantic City Police Department responded to a 911 call concerning a shooting in the single-digit block of South Bellevue Avenue.
According to Atlantic County officials, officers found a female gunshot victim upon arrival.
The female, identified as Ms. Malikah McLaughlin, 26, of Atlantic City, was pronounced dead at the scene.
This remains an active investigation.
