UPDATE: Woman Charged with Killing Man Who Was Found Behind Domino's Pizza in Newark

Essex County authorities said Ms. Stephanie Martinez, 39, has been arrested and charged with the murder of Raul Rios, 34.

Officials said on Tuesday, Sept. 28, at approximately 8:58 a.m., Rios’ body was found in a parking lot on the 400 block of Springfield Avenue in the City of Newark.

The victim was pronounced dead at 9:34 am. He was later identified as Rios.

According to police, Martinez, who was captured on video, was identified as a suspect and was subsequently arrested in Pennsylvania by Pennsylvania State Police at the Fogelsville Barracks.

Martinez has since been charged with murder, felony murder, robbery and theft.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force, which includes detectives from the Newark Police Department, is handling the investigation.

These are accusations.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they enter a guilty plea or are found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
