UPDATE: Violent Two-Car Crash Kills Elizabeth Resident Near Lincoln Park

Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, along with Newark Police officials, has revealed that the Essex County Prosecutor’s Crime Scene Investigations Bureau is currently looking into a collision involving two cars in Newark earlier today, resulting in the unfortunate death of one man and injuries to four passengers.

According to The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, on August 15, around 4:20 a.m., authorities received reports of a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Broad Street and Pennington Street in Newark. Fatal Crash

Tragically, Mr. Jose Murillo, 34, a resident of Elizabeth and the driver of one of the vehicles, was pronounced dead at the scene.  Crash  

The driver of the second vehicle and three passengers were transported to a nearby hospital, where they received treatment for minor injuries.

The investigation into the incident is actively underway and remains ongoing. Currently, no arrests have been made.
