Essex County homicide detective are continuing to looking into a shooting that left a man dead inside a laundromat on Saturday night.
Authorities are looking for the armed suspect who walked into the Laundry Depot located at 515 Chancellor Avenue, at around 7:15 p.m., reportedly wearing a mask and pumped bullets into a man before running from the scene.
According to a statement released by the Essex County Prosecutor's Office, the victim, later identified by the community, as Mr. Cantrell 'Tariq' Wilkes was rushed to University Hospital in Newark in severe condition.
Mr. Wilkes died from his injuries at approximately 7:58 p.m. according to authorities.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
Police have not reported an arrest.
