UPDATE: Vehicle Wanted in Connection with Newark Quadruple Shooting Located by Belleville Police

Belleville Police located and secured a vehicle wanted in connection with a mass casualty style shooting in Newark's North Ward on Saturday evening. 

According to Newark Police, at approximately 7:11 p.m. Sunday, police responded to the 700 block of Broadway on a call of four people shot.

When officers arrived, they found four victims suffering gunshot wounds after an armed suspect fired multiple shots in the direction of the victims in the North Ward. 

Newark Police said two 14-year-olds were grazed and a 17-year-old is in stable condition.

During officers' search of the crime scene, they found a 15-year-old suffering critical injuries after being struck by bullets at that location. The severely injured unidentified juvenile was rushed to University Hospital and remained in critical condition. 

According to reports, police began a search for a gray 4-door Honda Civic that fled the scene immediately after the shooting. 

Belleville Police located the unoccupied car within its city limits and held the vehicle for Newark Police.

The incident remains under investigation.
