UPDATE: Vehicle Sought for Sayreville Hit-and-Run Crash that Left Man Critical

Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief John Zebrowski of the Sayreville Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance in the investigation of a hit and run.

Officials said on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at approximately 5:25 A.M., authorities responded to the area of Victory Bridge, Route 35 Northbound, following the report of a hit and run. Crash

Upon their arrival, authorities located the victim who was struck while operating a scooter. Authorities transported him to Robert Wood Johnson.

Police say he is currently in critical condition.

At present, authorities believe a 2011 to 2018 green, 4 door, Jeep Wrangler with a black top, black wheels, and painted fenders was involved in the crash.

The front passenger side of the vehicle has sustained damage.

The Jeep was last seen continuing over Victory Bridge towards Perth Amboy, we are seeking the assistance of any witnesses who were in the area at the time.
