New Jersey State Police are investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of a Union County man early Sunday morning on the New Jersey Turnpike.
Troopers responded to the scene at approximately 4:12 a.m. on the northbound outer roadway near milepost 84.8 in Edison Township, Middlesex County.
According to a preliminary investigation, 26-year-old Mairon Gonzalez-Ramirez of Elizabeth was driving a Freightliner M2 northbound when the vehicle lost directional control.
The truck overturned and struck a guardrail, resulting in fatal injuries to Gonzalez-Ramirez.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not yet released the cause of the crash, and the incident remains under active investigation by New Jersey State Police.
