Authorities have identified the two women who lost their lives in last week’s two-vehicle crash on Hooper Avenue as township residents.
According to information released by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, 28-year-old Ashli Crespo (pictured), the driver of a Toyota RAV4, and Vanessa Orozco-Carbagas, 36, a passenger in a Chevrolet Equinox, were both killed in the Sept. 11 collision.
Investigators said the crash occurred at approximately 8:45 p.m. when a 46-year-old man driving a Chevrolet Equinox southbound on Hooper Avenue crossed over the grass median and struck Crespo’s SUV.
The impact caused the RAV4 to roll onto its passenger side before coming to rest at the corner of Fischer Boulevard.
The driver of the Equinox and a 4-year-old boy who had been traveling in the vehicle were hospitalized after the crash but have since been released, prosecutors said.

The incident remains under investigation, and as of Thursday morning no charges had been filed.
