Two Pennsylvania residents were killed and three others injured in a violent two-vehicle crash early Saturday morning on Route 9 in Old Bridge, according to Middlesex County authorities.
Middlesex County Prosecutor Linda Estremera and Old Bridge Police Chief Thomas Montagna said the collision occurred around 12:01 a.m. November 7, near the Grand Marquis Banquet Hall.
Investigators said a Ford SUV driven by a 35-year-old Mountain Top, Pennsylvania, man was leaving the banquet hall with three passengers when the driver attempted to turn left onto Route 9 North.
The vehicle was struck on the driver’s side by a Lexus SUV operated by a 34-year-old Old Bridge man.
Two passengers seated in the rear of the Ford, identified as Anthony Pizzo, 32, and Lindsey Clarke, 33, both of Wyoming, Pennsylvania, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Ford’s driver and front-seat passenger, along with the Lexus driver, were transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital with serious injuries.
The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and Old Bridge Police Department are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
