UPDATE: Two Paterson Men Arrested in Connection with Main Street Stabbing Incident

Mr. Bryan Canales-Arias, 29, and Mr. Ernesto Canales-Arias, 23, both of Paterson, were taken into custody on September 25, following an investigation by the Paterson Police Department into a stabbing incident that occurred earlier that day at the intersection of Main Street and Market Street.

Around 1:25 a.m., Paterson Police were alerted to the stabbing and swiftly responded to the scene. Officers discovered a 50-year-old male Paterson local with multiple non-lethal stab injuries.

The man was promptly transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center for medical attention.

Further probing by authorities pointed to the involvement of both Bryan and Ernesto Canales-Arias in the violent altercation.

The duo now face serious charges, including Attempted Murder in the First Degree, Aggravated Assault in the Second Degree, and weapons-related offenses. Both were apprehended on the same day in proximity to the incident site.

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Officer-In-Charge Isa Abbassi of the Paterson Police Department confirmed the arrests and charges.

The motive behind the stabbing remains under investigation.
