UPDATE: Two NJ Men Indicted for Fatal Shooting of Roselle Man

Authorities in Union County announced that a Union County Grand Jury indicted two men for a fatal shooting that took place on June 26.

Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel said Walter Daniels, 33, of Newark, and Devon Gray, 31, of Elizabeth, were each charged with 1st degree Murder, two counts of 1st Degree Attempted Murder, 2nd degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and 2nd degree Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose in connection with the shooting death of Guerley Edouard, 28, of Roselle.Ad

Officials said at approximately 8:30 p.m. on June 26, Elizabeth Police Officers responded to the 600 block of Salem Avenue in Elizabeth after reports of multiple people shot in the area.

Upon their arrival, officials say, they located three gunshot victims inside a vehicle.

The victims were Edouard, who was transported to Trinitas Hospital, where he was subsequently pronounced dead, and two female victims, a 23-year-old and a 3-year-old, who were treated and released from University Hospital, according to Assistant Prosecutor Jillian Reyes.

Officials said a joint investigation conducted by the Union County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Task Force, Elizabeth Police Department, Union County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit, and Union County Police Ballistics Unit led to the apprehension of Daniels and Gray.
