UPDATE: Two Injured After Vehicle Rolls Over in West Orange

Authorities in West Orange are looking into the cause of a crash that sent a man and a woman to the hospital late Monday evening. 

According to police, patrol units responded to the area of Whittingham Place and Northfield Avenue at 10:51 p.m. on the report of a motor vehicle accident with a rollover. 

Upon arrival, witnesses told officers that the vehicle's occupants involved in the collision left the scene immediately after in a separate car. 

Police say officers' check of the area revealed a wallet containing a New Jersey Driver’s license. 

West Orange Police Central Communications contacted hospitals in the area. It was revealed that East Orange General had two patients that fit the description of the occupants of the crashed vehicle. 

According to officials, West Orange Police sent Officer Hernandez to East Orange General, where he spoke to the owner and operator of the car. 

An injured woman told Officer Hernandez that she was involved in the crash. 

Police said the unidentified woman further stated that her friend in another vehicle drove her and a male passenger of the car to East Orange General Hospital due to injuries. 

Officer Hernandez spoke with the staff at the hospital, who said that both parties involved in the crash were in stable condition and did not sustain any life-threatening injuries.​

The cause remains under investigation.
