Update: Two Arrested After Disorderly Crowds Form in South Orange, Identified

South Orange Police have released the identities of Newark and East Orange residents arrested Saturday night.

According to authorities, about 300 juveniles descended on South Orange Village Center at around 9:45 p.m.

Police said a large number of participants began to engaged in unruly behavior, then obstructed vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

Multiple physical fights occurred as well as other disorderly conduct that police were able to gain control of shortly after it happened.

Police said initial reports of shots fired, and a stabbing was found to be unfounded.

Officers took Paris Armwood, 20, of Newark, and Qaadir Mayewillis, 20, of East Orange, into custody.

Police charged both men with disorderly conduct as part of the crowd, according to police.

A 15-year-old South Orange boy suffered injuries to his face and mouth after he was reportedly assaulted.

A 15-year-old Maplewood girl was also allegedly injured after she was hit and kicked by two males during the incident.
