Update: Turnpike Crash in Jersey City Kills Two

Authorities have confirmed that at least two people were killed this afternoon in a multi-vehicle crash on the New Jersey Turnpike.

Police responded to a three vehicles-car crash in the westbound lanes just west of the 14C toll plaza at approximately 3:19 p.m.

According to hospital officials, two adults and a critically injured child were taken to Jersey City Medical Center-Barnabas Health.

A third person was transported to CarePoint Health-Bayonne Medical Center with what appear to be non-life threatening injuries.

According to New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeff Flynn, there were three vehicles involved and two confirmed fatalities.
