An Ocean County judge has ordered a Toms River man to remain jailed as he faces multiple serious charges stemming from a fatal motor vehicle crash earlier this year.
Bradley D. Billhimer announced that on February 5, 2026, the Honorable Wendel E. Daniels ordered that Jamie Doyle, 40, of Toms River, remain detained at the Ocean County Jail pending further court proceedings.
Doyle is charged with aggravated manslaughter, vehicular homicide, and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driver’s license while involved in a motor vehicle crash causing death.
The charges stem from a crash that occurred on January 23, 2026, in Toms River.
Authorities said the crash resulted in the death of Ronald Bucher, 76, also of Toms River.
The detention hearing was handled by Senior Assistant Prosecutor Stephen Burke.
No additional details about the circumstances of the crash were released at this time.
