A 74-year-old woman, a 37-year-old man, and a 15-year-old male have been arrested and charged for the shooting the occurred Monday afternoon in a Trenton laundromat that left one man dead and a 16-year-old male in critical condition, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri reported.
Mercer County officials say Monday, at approximately 12 p.m., Trenton police were dispatched to Liberty III Laundromat, 250 Chambers Street,
Trenton, on a report of shots fired.
Upon arrival, a male victim, later identified as Geovahnie Fanfan, was located in the rear office of the business suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Fanfan, 21, was transported to the hospital and pronounced dead a short time later.
A second victim, a 16-year-old male, was transported by an unknown vehicle to the hospital where he remains in critical condition.
An investigation by the Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police Department revealed that an individual known as “Mama Dean” was responsible for the shooting.
Detectives were able to obtain video surveillance that captured the shooting. Preliminary investigation revealed a small group of individuals attacked a heavyset black male, later identified as Darryl Parker, just inside of the laundromat’s side entrance.
Individuals in the group kicked and threw objects onto Parker, who had been knocked to the ground. An elderly black female, later identified as Eudean McMillan, walked outside of the laundromat prior to the beating and returned holding a handgun.
McMillan fired the handgun at the individuals who were beating Parker as they tried to flee the laundromat. At that time, the 16-year-old male was struck by McMillan.
Fanfan, who was also in the group that initially attacked Parker, fled to the rear of the laundromat and hid inside the office area.
However, he was exposed to those in the laundromat by a large open window counter area. McMillan handed her gun to Parker, who walked to the open counter area, leaned over and fired at Fanfan who fell to the ground.
The group began to walk toward the exit of the laundromat before the handgun was taken by a third individual, a 15-year-old Trenton male, who walked back toward the open counter area and also fired the handgun at Fanfan, striking him multiple times as he lay on the ground. After the shooting, McMillan, Parker and the 15-year-old male fled the scene in McMillan’s vehicle.
Officials say, McMillan, 74, is charged as an accomplice to murder for the death of Fanfan. She is also charged with two counts of attempted murder and weapons offenses.
Parker, 37, and the 15-year-old Trenton male are charged with Fanfan’s murder and weapons offenses. The 15-year-old suspect is being held in the Middlesex County Juvenile Detention Center.
Dean and Parker are being held in the Mercer County Correction Center pending detention hearings.
Despite having been charged, all persons are presumed innocent until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
