Trenton

By: Richard L. Smith

Authorities are investigating a deadly disturbance that left a 17-year-old boy dead and another teen injured late Friday night in Trenton.

According to Mercer County Prosecutor Janetta D. Marbrey and Trenton Police Director Steve Wilson, officers responded to the first block of East Hanover Street around 10:01 p.m. on October 31, 2025, after receiving numerous 911 calls about a large fight involving juveniles.

When officers arrived, they found 17-year-old Gussiah McEachern of Trenton suffering from injuries in the street.

He was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead. An autopsy will determine the exact cause of death.

While detectives were at the hospital, they identified a second victim, a 15-year-old boy from Trenton, who was treated for non-life-threatening cuts and stab wounds to his arms and legs.

Investigators said footage from the scene showed more than 100 people in the area, with cars at a standstill along East Hanover Street.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Mercer County Homicide Task Force Detective James Rickey at (609) 989-6406.
