A 16-year-old boy was critically injured after a collision involving a scooter and a vehicle in Newark Friday afternoon.

According to information released by Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, police responded to Clinton Avenue and Wright Street, near Elizabeth Avenue, at approximately 3:14 p.m. following reports of a pedestrian struck.
Authorities said the teen was riding a scooter when he collided with a vehicle at the location.
The victim was transported to University Hospital, where he was reportedly listed in critical condition.
Police said the driver remained at the scene.
The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation.
