UPDATE: Teaneck Man Charged with Fatally Stabbing Hackensack Victim Multiple Times

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of Kelisen O. Brewely, 31, of Teaneck, on charges of Manslaughter and Aggravated Assault.

Authorities say the Hackensack Police Department received a 911 call reporting that a stabbing occurred at 240 Anderson Street, Apt. 6G.

Upon arrival, Hackensack officers found Vanden L. Carter, 20, of 240 Anderson Street, Apt. 6G, lying on the floor in the apartment with multiple stab wounds to his torso.

The victim was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased at 10:49 p.m.

Police say a short time later, the Hackensack Police Department was notified of another stabbing victim, Brewely was treated at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck.

The ensuing investigation revealed that the victim and Brewely were acquaintances and had been together in the apartment when the two engaged in an altercation.

During the fight, a third party attempted to intercede and was also assaulted by Brewely with a knife.

The suspect was remanded the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at 9:00 a.m.
