Authorities in Newark are investigating the suspicious death of a woman in Newark’s West Ward Wednesday.
The severely injured and unidentified victim was found on Sunset Avenue suffering from what appeared to be stab wounds, sources knew the woman said.
She was pronounced dead on the scene.
The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office was notified of the suspicious death, and The State Regional Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the official cause.
CLARIFICATION: An earlier article reporting an investigation into the death of a woman in Newark’s South Ward (Madison Avenue) was confused/misreported with this current woman’s death. That story has been corrected.
