UPDATE: Suspect Sought for Armed Gas Station Robbery in Newark’s West Ward

Police in Newark seek the public’s assistance with identifying an individual wanted for questioning for a robbery and firearm offenses that occurred on Saturday. 

Police said the robbery occurred at the Conoco Gas Station located on the 700 block of Sanford Avenue when a male brandished a black handgun at an employee and removed currency and other items, then fled the scene on foot eastbound on Mount Vernon Place.

According to police, the suspect is described as a male with a light complexion wearing a grey sweatshirt with a hood, dark-colored jacket, blue jeans, black and grey sneakers, and a face mask.

Detectives investigating this incident are seeking the public’s help in quickly identifying this suspect as part of this investigation.
