Authorities in Essex County are trying to determine if a suspect wanted for an early morning gas station robbery in Newark is the person they captured after a pursuit into Belleville Saturday night.
Police in Newark began following a grey Honda Honda Odyssey (license plate number D34-KSN) wanted for an armed robbery at the Exxon gas station located at 625 McCarter Highway early Saturday morning.
The driver ignored officers' lights and sirens and then began to lead cops on a pursuit that touched off in East Orange and ended in Belleville.
Police cornered the suspect near 150 Williams Street and arrested the driver without further incident around 9:15 p.m.
Authorities confirmed that the vehicle was stolen from Alpine, NJ, in Bergen County.
No injuries were reported.
