UPDATE: Suspect Captured in Atlantic City Deadly Pedestrian Hit-and-Run

An Atlantic City man has been charged with leaving the scene of a fatal hit-and-run pedestrian motor vehicle crash. 

 According to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office, the investigation revealed Harris L. Jacobs, 26, of Atlantic City, struck and killed Orlando Fraga, 76, of Atlantic City. 

Officials say on Sunday, at approximately 3:35 A.M., Jacobs struck Fraga in the 1800 block of Atlantic Avenue while operating a white 2016 Toyota 4 Runner.

Police charged Jacobs with 2nd Degree Leaving the Scene of a Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash resulting in the death of Orlando Fraga and was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending a detention hearing.

 

This fatal crash investigation was a cooperative effort by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Crash Investigations Unit and the Atlantic City Police Department.

 These charges are merely an accusation and not proof of guilt.  

In all criminal cases, a charged defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
