UPDATE: Surveillance Video Shows Armed Suspects Fire Shots Near Newark Bar

Newark

Police in Newark are looking for suspects wanted for firing guns near a bar in Newark's Central Ward on Saturday night.

Grainy video of the incident obtained by RLS Media showed at least two suspects near the intersection of Springfield Avenue and Pierce Street around 3 a.m. on Sunday.

Police responded to the area of Mercedes and Mink bar after a ShotSpotter device activated and alerted authorities of a shooting.

Officers arrived and found shell casings, but no victims were found after searching the area.

Residents in the area recalled a fight that involved several women who were jumped after leaving the bar Thursday night, June 9, and wondered if the shooting was related to the altercation.

In that incident, residents say a group of females who reportedly belonged to a motorcycle club attacked two women returning to their car after leaving Mercedes and Mink.

"The screams and attack woke me out of my sleep. The women viciously punched and pulled each other's hair neat to a vehicle, a resident told RLS Media.

Residents say they found a shell casing and a bloodied shirt that it appeared that police missed during their investigation and collection of evidence Saturday.  Shooting
