NPD CORRECTION: An earlier press release had police in Newark reporting that the victim died from his injuries. At 4:05 p.m., they changed their statement to non-fatal.
Police officials in Newark requests the public’s assistance in identifying a male suspect and two other individuals wanted for questioning in a fatal shooting that occurred at 43 North 6th Street yesterday.
According to police, at approximately 7:30 p.m., police responded to the area on a call of a man who had been shot following a fight.
Police say the victim was transported to University Hospital where he was later pronounced dead and the suspect fled the scene, heading north on North 6th Street.
Detectives investigating this incident obtained a photo of the suspect, who is described as wearing Nike Foamposite sneakers, dark-colored pants and a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt with a graphic logo on the chest.
Police are also searching for a man and a woman who are both wanted for questioning in this incident.
While police are actively searching for this shooting suspect and the individuals being sought for questioning, they seek the public’s help in quickly identifying them as part of this investigation.
