UPDATE: Summit Woman Found Stabbed to Death in Newark’s Ironbound Section

The Essex County Prosecutor's Office is investigating a stabbing that claimed the life of a Union County woman in Newark Friday.

The woman's family told RLS Media that Ms. Angelika Miles, 28, of Summit, was in the area of Lent and Ferry Street, where police found her suffering stab wounds around 3:45 a.m.

Miles also suffered severe trauma after being run over by a vehicle, but it is unknown if the suspect took the car or if it belonged to Miles at this time. 

She was pronounced dead at University Hospital a short time after arriving. 

Detectives closed a stretch of Ferry Street in the 500 block for the investigation. 

According to witnesses, Miles was in a relationship with a man which often reportedly brought her into Newark. 

The acquaintance hasn't officially  been ruled a suspect by The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office right now. 

No arrests have been made.
