Authorities are investigating circumstances that sent a man to the hospital with serious injuries this morning after he was struck by a New Jersey Transit bus.
According to initial reports, the No. 70 NJ Transit bus traveling in Summit Avenue struck a 48-year-old Springfield man shortly after 7 a.m. as he crossed Union Place.
The pedestrian was transported to Morristown Medical Center's trauma center in critical condition.
Police continue to investigate the crash and asked witnesses to call police at 908-273-0051.
